Hi! I'm Cait

Hi, I’m Cait - photographer, professional laugher, and natural beauty enthusiast. I started Laugh Lines after years behind the lens watching women apologise for their faces (even though they’re magic, exactly as they are). This project is part love letter, part rebellion. An invitation to show up barefaced and brilliant. I’m here to document the cracks, the creases, the quirks, the real stuff. Because beauty isn’t added. It’s revealed.

SOME LOVE NOTES FROM OUR SUPPORTERS

Hey Cait, I wanted to message and let you know that you influenced me in the best possible way. I was feeling really self conscious after having a baby about how tired I looked and my wrinkling forehead. I was going to get botox. But your praise for aging with grace has made me do a 180 and really appreciate my body and all it's done for me and my family and to be happy with my smile lines, so thankyou for the reminder! I hope you keep doing what you're doing, it's helping people ❤️
"Thank you for sharing this. This is a really powerful way to reframe the way I think. I have my own fears around aging - I've already got two bloody permanent frown lines from all the years of staring at the glary ocean. I worry that this devalues me in society. But seeing Talo and remembering the elders in my own life, I am reminded of a beauty that is so real I can't even name it. Through elders I can choose to see my signs of aging as recognition that their beauty is beginning to take its form on my own body. And by embracing this it feels like a gentle showing of respect and honour for them. Gosh I've never gotten deep in the comment section bit scared to put this out there but gonna go with it. Thanks Caity"
"I think we as girls and women are conditioned to be aware of and strive for 'the male gaze.' I still remember being catcalled at 14 as I walked to school in my uniform. And from there the beginning of being incredibly self conscious and self critical. I love what you're doing and can't wait to see more!
